North Vietnam
The North of Vietnam enjoyed perfect autumnal weather in October 2022. It rained for only 3 days in the third week as the interaction of the Winter Monsoon and Typhoon Nesat (No. 6 Typhoon in 2022). The North of Vietnam had 3-4 spells of North Easterly Wind from the second week of October, 2022.
The North of the Central Region of Vietnam (Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh)
The North of the Central Region had rain and overcast skies mostly. There was torrential rain when the typhoons hit the Central Coast of Vietnam.
The Central Coast of Vietnam (From Quang Binh to Binh Thuan)
The region was under impact of a Typhoon in late September 2022 and it rained heavily into early October . There were two more typhoons hitting the region (No. 5 and No. 6 Typhoons) which caused torrential rain and several places were flooded: Quang Tri, Hue, Quang Nam, Hoi An, Da Nang…
Quang Tri Province had several flooded areas in Hai Lang, Huong Hoa, Dak Rong, Road to the La Lay Border Checkpoint (Dakrong).
Hue got landslide and flooded roads at A Luoi (Ho Chi Minh Road), Phuoc Tuong Pass (Route 1).
Hai Van Tunnel was flooded by 0.5m of water, and the tunnel was block by landslide and rockslide for a day. The Reunification Express SE7 had to stop in Hue due to the flood. Rail tracks at Lang Co were swept away and several trains were canceled. There were several landslides and rockslides on the road to the summit of the Son Tra Peninsula from mid October till the end of October, 2022.
The Central Highlands of Vietnam
The region was under the impact of the typhoons the same as the Central Coast and torrential rain was found for most of October 2022.
The South of Vietnam
The South of Vietnam had heavy rain for most of October 2022. Vung Tau City had some quarters flooded and a brief flash flood at the Nui Nho Mountain caused landslide and rock slides.
