Cat Ba Island is the largest island in Halong Bay and one of the most popular tourist destinations in Vietnam. Located to the south of Halong Bay, Cat Ba is under the administration of Hai Phong, not that of Halong City or Quang Ninh Province.

Cat Ba offers stunning natural beauty with several islands, amazing deserted beaches, an interesting national park with primeval forest, and a variety of outdoor activities.

Weather and Climate, Best Time to Visit

The best time to visit Cat Ba Island is from March to May during which time it is pleasant temperatures, no typhoons, no boring long-lasting rain, lovely sunshine mostly. It is not Vietnamese tourist season either.
