8/ Visit the Xa No Canal
This canal was expanded by the French from 1901 to 1903 and turned into a water trade route. The canal is 40km in length starting from Can Tho, passing Hau Giang and Kien Giang before rinsing its water into the sea. The canal is 60m wide and 2-9m deep. Apart from its important role as a trade route, the canal also helps to bring copious fresh water from the Hau River to make agriculture possible in several saline-alkaline soil areas.
