July is summer in northern Vietnam, the hot dry season in the Central Coast of Vietnam, the rainy season in the Central Highlands and South of Vietnam. There may be typhoons hitting the North of Vietnam and the North of the Central Coast of Vietnam.
In July 2019, Vietnam experienced extreme weather: constant heat strike in parts of the North of Vietnam (Hoa Binh, Yen Bai, Lao Cai and the Red River Delta), and the Central Coast of Vietnam, 2 typhoons in the North of Vietnam at the beginning and the end of the month, a flood in the third week at Cao Bang (Trung Khanh).
Nice weather was as usual of July in the Central Highlands (20-29oC) and South of Vietnam (25-33oC) with daily short-lived rains.
1/Typhoon Mun (Typhoon No.2) made landfall between Hai Phong and Nam Dinh causing torrential rains in the North of Vietnam and the North of the Central Region (Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh) of Vietnam. The typhoon and the torrential rains helped to bring down the temperatures in the North and the Central Coast for a couple of days. The rains did help with the ongoing forest fire in Ha Tinh.
2/ High temperatures 27-38oC in Hoa Binh, Yen Bai, Lao Cai for the first three weeks of July 2019.
3/Constantly high temperatures 28-39oC in the Central Coast of Vietnam with only a break of a few days due to torrential rains caused by Typhoon Mun at the beginning of the month and Typhoon Wipha at the end of the month.
4/Floods in Trung Khanh Cao Bang in the third week of July 2019.
5/A tropical depression at the end of July 2019 which later turned into Typhoon Wipha (Typhoon No.3) at the beginning of August 2019.
6/ The Con Dao Islands and Phu Quoc Island had strong Southwesterly Monsoon and rough sea for most of July 2019.
7/ Serious drought in the Central Coast of Vietnam.
8/ Bad thunderstorms with strong gusts of wind destroyed several houses in An Giang.
9/ July 2019 ended with a coming tropical depression later typhoon with torrential rains in all over northern Vietnam and the North of the Central Coast of Vietnam.
