Weather and Climate, Best time to visit
Lam Dong Province can be visited all year round. However, the best time to visit is from December to April when the weather is dry. It is quite cool and cold in December-February, be sure to have enough warm clothes if you plan to travel through the province.
The rainy season starts in May and lasts through November. It is short-lived daily rain in the months of May-August and long-lasting rain in the months of September-October and sometimes into November. The torrential rain in the peak rainy season makes the city prone to floods, flash floods and landslides.

2/ Lang Biang Mountain
Located in Lac Duong District, 15km north-northwest of Da Lat, the Lang Biang Mountain offers a stunning view of the city and the surrounding pristine nature. You can hike or take a jeep tour to the top of the mountain. Private vehicles are not allowed to travel from the mountain base to the top.

The Lang Biang mountain has three highest peaks: Nui Ba (Lady Peak, 2167m), Nui Ong (Gentleman Peak, 2,124m) and the Radar Peak (1,929m).
At the base of the Lang Biang Mountain there are villages of the M’Lat People (a branche of the K’Ho) which are certainly worth visiting.
At the Lang Biang Mountain, you can go sightseeing or taking trekking adventure tours, or bird watching tours. The tours are mostly day tours. There are homestays of the M’Lat People in the area, else you have to bring along camping gears or travel back to Da Lat for the night.

3/ Pongour Waterfall
Pongour Waterfall is in Duc Trong District, is one of the largest and among the most scenic waterfalls in Vietnam and is located about 50 km southwest of Da Lat City. The waterfall is surrounded by lush green forests and is a popular spot for picnics.
While the waterfall is captivating and the water pool at the base of the waterfall is tempting for a swim, it is advisable you travel here in groups, not by yourself. There have been some fatal accidents to solo travelers at this waterfall for unknown reasons.
4/ Elephant Waterfall
Elephant Waterfall in Lam Ha District is about 30 km southwest of Da Lat City and is named after the several rock formations that resemble elephants. The waterfall is 40m wide, 30m high, and is surrounded by dense forests and is a great spot for hiking as well as relaxing.
At the base of the waterfall there is the Bat Cave which goes 50m deep underground. The paths are quite slippery and extreme caution should be exercised when visiting the waterfall and the cave.
5/ Bidoup Nui Ba National Park
The Bidoup Nui Ba National Park covers the Nui Ba Mountain (Lady Mountain Peak) of the Lang Biang Mountain. The national park is in Lac Duong District, 50km northeast of Da Lat.
The Bidoup Nui Ba National Park is off the tourist track and can be explored on a 1-day trek or 2-day trek. It is a must to have a local guide as it is easy to get lost in the forest. For avid birders and ornithologists, the Bidoup Nui Ba could offer you a wonderful birding experience. When taking on a 2-day trekking tour, the only choice is camping amid the wilderness of the national park. There are a few good campsites with good views of the wild around.
6/ Lien Khuong Waterfall
The Lien Khuong Waterfall is 2km from the Lien Khuong Airport. This is a great place to hang around waiting for your flight.
7/ Di Linh Forest
Di Linh Town is 50km south of the Lien Khuong Airport and Di Linh Forest is 20km east of Di Linh Town. It takes 2 hours to travel from the Lien Khuong Airport to the Di Linh Forest where you can find a trove of amazing birds including many novel as well as endemic bird species.

The nearest airport to Lam Dong Province is Lien Khuong Airport, which is located in Da Lat city. You can also travel to Lam Dong Province by bus from major cities like Ho Chi Minh City or Hanoi.
