Cao Bang trekking tour is a hard trekking adventure for 6 days 5 nights with off-the-beaten path itinerary. The province of Cao Bang is in the North-East of Vietnam, 300km from Hanoi.
Cao Bang Trekking Tour Overview
The region is characterized with waterfalls, valleys and imposing mountain peaks. Cao Bang is home to a number of ethnic groups in Vietnam such as the Tay, Nung, Dao, Hmong, Lo Lo… whose traditional culture is well preserved for centuries.
Though possessing many hidden gems of natural beauties and traditional culture, Cao Bang is not yet visited by most foreign visitors to Vietnam. Our trekking adventure brings you through different ethnic minorities who inhabit in heavenly landscape in the province. The region is seldom visited by foreign visitors and tourism is only in its infancy that infrastructure may be much poorer than you imagine. Detailed itinerary
Day1 Ha Noi – Cao Bang – Phja Thap Village (B/L/D)
From Hanoi, we travel our way on Route 3 which is excellent. We have lunch at Bac Kan Town. The landscape today includes hills and tea plantations in Thai Nguyen Province, the pristine mountains and valleys in Bac Kan and Cao Bang Provinces. We have lunch at a great family restaurant in Bac Kan Town. We arrive at Pac Rang Village, a Nung Community late in the day. The night is at a Nung family at Phja Thap Village where locals make incense.

Day2 Phja Thap Village – Ta Lung Trekking – La Village (trekking 15km) (B/L/D)
Breakfast at the homestay.
We are transferred to Ta Lung border town where our trek starts. The highlights today include idyllic rice valleys, evergreen forests. We arrive at La Village in the afternoon. Have time to explore the community before dinner.

Day3 La – Na Nieng (19km) (B/L/D)
Breakfast at the homestay.
The trek is more challenging and the scenery is more and more beautiful. We will have to trek through a high limestone mountain with dense forest before reaching our home tonight at Na Nieng Village.

Day4 Na Nieng – Pac Khoang (18km) (B/L/D)
Breakfast at the homestay.
We trek through valleys and ethnic communities to Dong Khe Town where we have lunch. In the afternoon, hike up a buffalo trail to Pac Khoang, a Dzao community. The village is perched on top of a mountain with forest all around.

Day5 Pac Khoang – Na Pang (20km) (B/L/D)
Breakfast at the homestay.
On the fifth day, we trek downhill and uphill through limestone mountains and dense forest to Na Pang Village. Arriving at the village in late afternoon, we will have time to relax by the riverside. This is a poor community rarely visited by outsiders.

Day6 Na Pang – Trang Dinh – Lang Son – Hanoi (B/L)
Breakfast at the homestay.
We trek along a river toward That Khe Town. Our vehicle picks us up from That Khe and transfers us to Lang Son City. We will visit the highlights of Lang Son including the To Thi Mountain, Nhi Thanh and Tam Thanh Caves. Then, continue our journey back to Hanoi. You have completed a hard trekking adventure through the limestone mountains and forests along the Chinese border with AdventureGreen.
