When to Go, Best time to visit

The best time to visit Ben Tre Province is from December to March, when the weather is dry and pleasant. It can be humid and warm from late March through April. 

From May through August it is rainy season with daily short-lived 30-minute rain. 

From September through December is the rainy season with torrential rain and gloomy skies mostly. The locals refer to this period as the “Flood Season” (Mua Nuoc Lu) during which time the Mekong River water rises flooding several places. 

During the Flood Season the region of Ben Tre along with the Mekong Delta is abundant in aquatic life making food to human beings as well as birds. Those who love watching birds may like to travel to the region during this time as there are several migratory bird species as well as resident bird species.
