September is autumn in the North of Vietnam, is the beginning of the rainy season in the Central Coast of Vietnam, high rainy season in the Central Highlands and South of Vietnam.
There may be typhoons in the North and the Central Coast of Vietnam which may cause floods in the affected regions. The Southwesterly Monsoon may be strong which makes the sea rough from Binh Thuan to Ca Mau, Ca Mau to Kien Giang (including the Rach Gia Gulf).
The Con Dao Islands and Phu Quoc Island may have strong wind and rough sea.

1/ September 2019 began with 2 tropical depressions in the East Sea of Vietnam. One of these two tropical depressions made landfall in Quang Tri - Thua Thien Hue and later moved northeast out into the East Sea again. The path is very unusual. The tropical depression caused torrential rains in the Central Coast of Vietnam and floods from Nghe An to Quang Tri in the period 4-6September 2019.
2/ Strong Southwesterly Monsoon and rough sea from Binh Thuan to Ca Mau, Ca Mau to Kien Giang.
3/Torrential rains in the North of Vietnam: the far-northern Mountains and in the Red River Delta.
4/Flash floods in Yen Minh (Ha Giang) and landslides on Route 4C between Quan Ba and Yen Minh, between Dong Van and Ma Le on 9-10September. 200M of road from Tuyen Quang to Ha Giang was flooded on 10September.
5/ Mid month strong Southwesterly Monsoon and rough sea from Binh Thuan to Ca Mau, Ca Mau to Kien Giang; torrential rains in the Central Highlands and South of Vietnam.
6/ Fall equinox in 2019 is on 23-September. The weather has changed to nicer autumnal pattern in the North and more into the rainy season in the Central Coast of Vietnam. It is getting cool and cold in the far-northern mountains of Vietnam: the winter seems to come early. These are the best days for adventure holidays in all over Vietnam.
7/ The weather remained beautiful in all over Vietnam from fall equinox to the end of September, 2019: the North had sunny days with pleasant temperatures, the Central Coast has fairly dry days with pleasant temperatures, the Central Highlands and South of Vietnam had sunny days with nice temperatures.
