Tra Vinh Province like Vinh Long is separated from the mainland by the Tien River and the Hau River (Upper Branch and Lower Branch of the Mekong River). The north-west of Tra Vinh is Vinh Long while the south-east of Tra Vinh is the East Vietnam Sea.
Overview
Due to inconvenient transport and tourist infrastructure earlier, Tra Vinh was rarely visited by foreign travelers to Vietnam. Nowadays, adventure travelers who love straying from the tourist track start visiting the province. But it seems Tra Vinh does not get much attention from travelers compared to other provinces in the Mekong Delta.
The whole province has some forests left from the past with big timber trees. The eponymous capital city of the province is a countryside city with some woods and several huge timber trees. The province is inhabited by different ethnic groups: Kinh (Viet), Khmer and Chinese. Traveling through the province, you can easily find the visibly different cultures as well as the blended culture in Tra Vinh.
