The Xuan Thuy National Park in Giao Thuy District, Nam Dinh Province in northern Vietnam. The national park is the biggest bird park in Vietnam with over 150 migratory bird species and over 50 resident bird species. The total number of birds spotted at Xuan Thuy often exceed 33,000 per annum.

Tour Overview

The Xuan Thuy National Park is typical of wetland habitat with mangrove forest where the Red River discharges its water into the East Vietnam Sea. Aquatic species at Xuan Thuy are abundant all year round and the temperatures at the national park are quite stable throughout the year.

Xuan Thuy is on the migratory routes for several different bird species who migrate southwards in the winter months from October through February. The national park is also the destination for several bird species which migrate northwards during the summer months (May-August) in northern hemisphere.

Detailed itinerary

0800 Depart from Hanoi for Xuan Thuy.
1130 Arrive at Xuan Thuy, briefing on the national park at the Visitor Center.
1200-1300 Lunch.
1300-1500 Visit the core zone of the Xuan Thuy National Park and learn about the different bird species.
