Hoi An in Quang Nam Province, in the Central Coast of Vietnam, was a busy international trading port in the 16-18th century. The river silted up in the 19th century which made it too shallow for a port, hence the port relocation to Da Nang (Tourane). Nowadays, visiting Hoi An you can still adore the charming ancient architecture and the quaint ambiance dating back to its heydays.

The Old Town of Hoi An has always been a favorite spot for AdventureGreen's travelers journeying between the North and the South of the country. We trust that our fellow travelers have some active time in the country and it is good to get relaxed and get soaked in the traditional atmosphere of Hoi An before embarking on the adventure again.

During your stay in Hoi An, the Old Town sometimes may get busy with tourists. AdventureGreen has carefully selected accommodations which are peaceful enough that you can still enjoy the Old Town but also enjoy some quiet time at the hotel.

It is also good to know that Hoi An is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and it is extremely expensive with the conservation of the old architectures. The rainy season in Hoi An is bad and damaging floods may come every 8-10 years which may destroy everything. Your visit to Hoi An is essential in contributing to the funds for the preservation of the old houses. This is also one of AdventureGreen's missions from the outset.
