Quang Ninh is situated in the North East of Vietnam. The capital city is Halong, 165km from Hanoi. The Province is more known to the travelers with the unrivaled beauty of Halong Bay; while there are many other tourist attractions that are worth your exploration.

Geography
To the north of Halong Bay, there are islands and deserted beaches that only some local tourists would travel to. Facilities in these areas are poor and English is not often understood, but a trip to these places would bring you the untouched natural beauty and a relaxing time.
There are ranges of high mountains of over 1,000m above sea level and dense forests between Quang Ninh, Lang Son and Bac Giang Provinces. 2/ Bai Tu Long Bay
Bai Tu Long Bay is located to the northeast of Halong Bay with similar landscape of several islands littered at sea. The islands in Bai Tu Long Bay are more sparsely located and may be less gorgeous than those in Halong Bay but there are several pristine beaches on these islands which make it more appealing to beach seekers. 3/ Tra Co Beach
Tra Co Beach is close to the Chinese border, 200km north of Halong City. The beach stretches for 17km with white and fine sand. Tra Co is 10km from Mong Cai City Center. There are hotels with basic facilities on the beach. Tra Co is popular to Vietnamese and Chinese tourists.
4/ Cai Chien Island

Cai Chien Island is to the north of the Co To Island with several deserted beaches of which the longest one is 2km.
5/ Co To Island
Co To Island is 1 hour 15 minutes from Van Don Town (and Van Don Airport) which is 50km north of Halong City. Co To has a few lovely white sand beaches. The island is extremely popular among the Vietnamese tourists recently. Accommodations are often booked out in the summer.

6/ Quan Lan Island
Quan Lan Island is to the southwest of the Co To Island. The island can be reached by a 3-hour boat trip from Hon Gai (Halong City), 1 hour 30 minute from Cai Rong Town (Van Don). Quan Lan also possesses lovely sandy beaches. There are a few fishing communities which can be visited while on the island.

7/ Yen Tu Mountain and Pagoda
The mountains and forests of Yen Tu offer great opportunities for hiking, trekking adventures and nature tours
The Yen Tu Pagoda is a complex of pagodas in the Yen Tu Mountain of which the peak is at 1,068m above sea level. The pagoda was set up by Yen Ky Sinh in the 11th century C.E but it only turned to be an important religious site in Vietnam after it was expanded in the 13th century by King Tran Nhan Tong. The king retired and turned Yen Tu into the birding place of Zen Buddhism in Vietnam. Yen Tu from then was one of the biggest Buddhist centers in Vietnam.
Visiting the Yen Pagoda and the Yen Tu Mountain, you are to get lost in the Zen Buddhist atmosphere as well as in the breathtaking nature. There are several amazing hiking trails that lead to amazing natural beauties in the mountains.
8/ Binh Lieu
Binh Lieu is a mountainous region right on the Chinese border. The area is known for breathtaking pastures, wild waterfalls, and amazing ethnic communities. Binh Lieu is 120km north of Halong City.
How to get to Quang Ninh
1/ By air
There are daily flights to/from the Van Don Airport which is 50km from Halong City. Alternatively you can take a helicopter trip to Halong from Hanoi.
2/ By road
