The rufous-gorgeted flycatcher (Ficedula strophiata) is a species of bird in the family Muscicapidae.
The bird is found in the Indian Subcontinent and Southeast Asia, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Hong Kong, India, Laos, Myanmar, Nepal, Thailand, and Vietnam.
The genus name Ficedula is from Latin and refers to a small fig-eating bird (ficus, "fig") supposed to change into the blackcap in winter.
