Spodiopsar is a genus of Asian birds in the family Sturnidae.
The genus name combines the Ancient Greek spodios meaning "ash-coloured" and psar meaning "starling".
1/ Red-billed starling (Sáo đá đầu trắng, Spodiopsar sericeus)
The specific epithet sericeus is Medieval Latin meaning "silken" (which is from "silk starling" that had been illustrated by a naturalist)
2/ White-cheeked starling or grey starling (Sáo đá má trắng, Spodiopsar cineraceus)
formerly placed in the genus Sturnus.
