Indian pied myna

The Indian pied myna (Gracupica contra) is a species of starling found in the Indian subcontinent.
Traits:

The Sturnidae are named for the genus Sturnus which in Latin means starling.
The genus name Gracupica combines the Latin graculus meaning "jackdaw" (related to but smaller than crows and ravens) with pica meaning "magpie".
Contra was used by the people of Bengal for this species.
