Dong Van Karst Plateau is located in Ha Giang Province, northern Vietnam. The plateau has the elevation from 1,400m to 1,600m above sea level and 80% of the surface consisted of rock. There is a high concentration of rocky mountain peaks of over 2,000m in the plateau.

The Citadel of the Ho Dynasty (Ho Family) was built from 1397-1401 by Ho Quy Ly when he became the King of Vietnam usurping the throne from the Tran Dynasty (Tran Family). Due to threat of invasion from China (the Ming Dynasty) and hostility within Vietnam, Ho Quy Ly moved the capital city to Vinh Loc, Thanh Hoa Province, and the citadel was built at the new royal capital.
The Cat Tien National Park stretches in the territory of Dong Nai, Binh Phuoc and Lam Dong Provinces. The national park is surrounded by 80km of the Dong Nai River with a very diverse ecosystem.
