The Khe Ro Forest is in An Lac, Son Dong, Bac Giang Province. The forest is 100km east of Bac Giang provincial capital and 160km northeast of Hanoi. The Khe Ro Forest is a part of the Tay Yen Tu Nature Reserve with mostly high forested mountains which stretch over 7,000 hectares.
