Du Gia Valley is the area of Du Gia Commune, Yen Minh District, in Ha Giang Province. The valley if 50km south of Yen Minh Township and 80km northwest of Ha Giang City.
Travel Guide to the Du Gia Valley, Ha Giang
The Du Gia Valley, which is located to the west of Ha Giang Province and near Cao Bang Province, was almost hidden from the outside world due to bad road conditions earlier. In the late 2000s, paths to the valley were mostly horse tracks and not suitable for vehicles. Only some daring adventure bikers called at the valley back then. Things changed slightly nowadays as the road from Yen Minh seems to be in better conditions.
Though Du Gia belongs to the Rock Plateau of Dong Van, it is a rare soil valley in the Rock Plateau. The terrain of the valley is also much lower to the surroundings as well as to most of the plateau. You visit Du Gia from any direction, you will go down the valley from the brim and the views of the valley from higher altitudes are just captivating.
Tourist Attractions, Things to Do
There are not many attractions in the Du Gia Valley but the different roads to the valley from different directions offer stunning and sublime natural landscape. Besides, untouched lifestyle of the local Tay people may provide a lovely experience if you spend a few days here.
1/ Ethnic villages amid lush green paddy fields and corn terraces
The Du Gia Valley is home mostly to the Tay People. It is normal for the group of Giay, Tay and Thai Peoples to settle down by rivers or valleys in mountainous regions in Vietnam. They cultivate corn on hill sides and water rice in the valley. They have a very laid-back lifestyle and you are to have a very relaxing time staying here.
2/ Tham Luong Waterfall
The waterfall is 3km from the Coc Pang Village with homestay service. You can swim on the river at the base of the waterfall.
3/ Walking Tours
The valley of Du Gia has corn terraces and rice fields with several lovely trails. A walking tour may takes a couple of hours or half a day.

2/ From Meo Vac, Yen Minh Township or Quan Ba Township
The routes involved are DT176, DT181, DT182 and all of which are not in good conditions. Route 176 is mostly for motorcycles, mountain bikes and horses.
