  • Hemipus

    The flycatcher-shrikes are two species of small Asian passerine bird belonging to the genus Hemipus in the family Vangidae.

    1/ Bar-winged flycatcher-shrike (Phường chèo đen, Hemipus picatus)

    Vangidae: from Vanga Malagasy name Vanga pied bird, for the Hook-billed Vanga: Vanga curvirostris.
    Hemipus Greek hemi- half-, small; pous foot.

    Philentoma is an enigmatic genus of birds. They are now usually included in the Vangidae of the order Passeriformes.

  • Tephrodornis

    Tephrodornis is a bird genus in the family Vangidae.
    The genus name combines the Ancient Greek tephodes meaning "like ashes" or "ash-coloured" with ornis meaning "bird".

    2/ Common woodshrike (Phường chèo nâu mày trắng, Tephrodornis pondicerianus)

  • Tephrodornis

    Tephrodornis est un genre de passereaux de la famille des Vangidae. Il comprend quatre espèces de téphrodornes.
    Le nom du genre vient du grec ancien tephodes se signifiant 'comme de la ceindre' ou 'couleur de la ceindre, gris cendré' et ornis pour oiseau.
