    Harpactes is a genus of birds in the family Trogonidae found in forests in South and Southeast Asia, extending into southernmost China.

    The epithet comes from the Ancient Greek terms eruthros meaning red, and kephale meaning head.

    Ward's trogon (Harpactes wardi) is a species of bird in the family Trogonidae.
    The bird is found in the northeastern parts of the Indian subcontinent stretching eastwards to Southeast Asia. It is found in Bhutan, India, Tibet, and Myanmar, no recent records in Vietnam.
