Da Lat Shrike-Babbler is endemic to southern Vietnam on the Da Lat Plateau, considered a subspecies of the white-browed shrike-babbler.

The pied shrike-babbler (Pteruthius flaviscapis) is a bird species of the Vireonidae family.

Traits:
- white-throated;
- white-bellied (male), greyish-bellied (female);
- white-browed;
- wing color:black and orange for males; olive for females.
- male colors: black, orange, white;
- female colors: grey, white-greyish, olive. 

Vireonidae: Vireo / vireo Latin vireo small green migratory bird.
Pteruthius Greek pteron wing; eruthaino to dye red, to blush.
flaviscapis Latin flavus yellow; scapulae shoulders.

The shrike-babblers are a group of small birds in the genus Pteruthius in the family Vireonidae of the order Passeriformes.
