Mareca is a genus or subgenus of ducks in the family Anatidae that includes the wigeons.
The name of the genus is from the Portuguese word Marreco for a small duck.[
The species were formerly placed in the genus Anas.

1/ Gadwall (Vịt cánh trắng, Mareca strepera)
2/ Eurasian wigeon or European wigeon (Vịt đầu vàng, Mareca penelope), also known as the widgeon or the wigeon
The epithet name derives from Ancient Greek pene, "braid" and ops "appearance"

3/ Falcated duck or falcated teal (Vịt lưỡi liềm, Mareca falcata)
