  • Cissa

    Cissa is a genus of relatively short-tailed magpies, sometimes known as hunting cissas, that reside in the forests of tropical and subtropical southeast Asia and adjacent regions. 

    The name Cissa is from the Ancient Greek kissa meaning a "jay" or "magpie".

    The specific epithet chinensis was chosen by Boddaert in the mistaken belief that the specimen illustrated by Martinet had come from China.

    Corvidae is a cosmopolitan family of oscine passerine birds that contains the crows, ravens, rooks, magpies, jackdaws, jays, treepies, choughs, and nutcrackers.

    Corvus is a widely distributed genus of passerine birds ranging from medium-sized to large-sized in the family Corvidae.
    It includes species commonly known as crows, ravens, and rooks.
    The genus name is derived from the Latin corvus meaning "raven".

    The scientific name macrorhynchos is from Ancient Greek for "large beak". The species is sometimes known by the common name thick-billed crow.

    3/ Carrion crow (Quạ mỏ nhỏ, Corvus corone) 
    The epithet is from Greek korone, "crow".

    Crypsirina is a small genus of long-tailed passerine birds in the crow and jay family, Corvidae.
    The generic name is derived from the Greek words krupto, meaning "to conceal," and rhis or rhinos, meaning "nostrils".

    Dendrocitta is a genus of long-tailed passerine birds in the crow and jay family, Corvidae.
    The generic name is derived from the Greek words dendron, meaning "tree," and kitta, meaning "magpie".

    The name Garrulus is a Latin word meaning chattering, babbling or noisy.

    The specific epithet glandarius is Latin meaning "of acorns".

    Pica is a genus of seven species of birds in the family Corvidae in both the New World and the Old.
    Pica is the Latin word for the Eurasian magpie.

    Urocissa is a genus of birds in the Corvidae, a family that contains the crows, jays, and magpies.
    Corvina ( Coracina) / corvina Latin corvinus raven-like, raven-black (corvus raven).
    The name Urocissa combines the Ancient Greek oura meaning "tail" and kissa meaning "magpie" .
