Actitis is a small genus of waders, comprising just two very similar bird species.
The genus name is from Ancient Greek aktites, "coast-dweller" from akte, "coast".

The Common Sandpiper (Actitis hypoleucos, Choắt nhỏ) is a small Palearctic wader species, family of Scolopacidae, genus Actitis. Common Sandpiper is a pass-through winter bird commonly sighted at the Xuan Thuy National Park.
