The Indian paradise flycatcher is a migratory bird and spends the winter season in tropical Asia.

Traits:
- Black-hooded;
- Bright chestnut, or rufous, or white upper body;
- White lower body;

The name is from the Ancient Greek terpsi "delighting in" and phonos "voice".
