Detailed itinerary
Day 1 ( Thursday ) Ha Noi – Ba Be National Park (220km)/Ba Be Lake Cruise (-/L/D)
We travel on an excellent road amid idyllic countryside with rice fields and tea plantations to Ba Be National Park. Arriving at the park at mid day, we have lunch and have a boat trip on Ba Be Lake surrounded by towering mountains and dense forests.
Our night is at Pac Ngoi Village, home to the Tay ethnic people.
Day 2 ( Friday ) Ba Be National Park – Tinh Tuc – Bao Lam – Meo Vac (180km) (B/L/D)
Breakfast at the hosts’ homestay.
We depart Ba Be on a route not often visited by tourists. The scenery today is just breathtaking with forests, fresh mountains alternated by green valleys and ethnic villages. For a good part of the road, we travel by the riverside of the Gam River with stunning landscapes.
In the afternoon, we climb the high pass in clouds at Chi Le Dung to enter Meo Vac Town. Have time to explore the community.

Day 3 ( Saturday ) Dong Van Plateau: Meo Vac – Ma Pi Leng Pass – Dong Van (30km) – Lung Cu Flag Tower (25km) – Dong Van (B/L/D)

Our journey is a real treat for the eyes. In the morning, we have great moments adoring the sublime beauty of Ma Pi Leng Pass. Then proceed to Dong Van Town to visit the Old Quarter and have lunch.
In the afternoon, visit Lung Cu Flag Tower from where we could have great view of forests of limestone lining to the horizon. We will visit a Lo Lo Village before returning to our hotel in Dong Van Town.

Day 4 ( Sunday ) Dong Van Plateau: Dong Van Sunday Market/Dong Van – Sa Phin – Sung La - Pho Bang – Pho Cao – Yen Minh (70km) (B/L/D)

We have the morning visiting Dong Van Sunday Market. The market is in session only once per week and is not only the place for trade, but also for meeting with friends. Then, we check out of the hotel and proceed to Sa Phin Valley to visit the former Residence of the Vuong Family who was the chieftain of the Hmong in Dong Van earlier.
After that travel to Sung La and visit Lung Cam Tren Village, home to the Hmong, the Lo Lo and Chinese ethnic minorities. We will also visit the Chinese community at Pho Bang and Hmong community at Pho Cao on the way to Yen Minh. Tonight we stay at Buc Ban Village, home the Tay, Nung, Bo Y, Giay peoples in Yen Minh District.

Day 5 ( Monday ) Yen Minh – Quan Ba - Ha Giang (100km) (B/L/D)
Breakfast at the hosts’ homestay.
We bid farewell to our hosts and travel to Quan Ba where we will descend the Heavenly Gate with a stunning view of the surrounding nature. Then visit a community of the Dzao Cham ethnic minority. Have time to explore the village and have lunch. Then, we will travel on the scenic road descending to Ha Giang City. Have a walking tour along the riverside of the city and proceed further to Tuy Village, home to a Tay community. Have time to explore the village before dinner.

Day 6 ( Tuesday ) Ha Giang – Ha Noi (310km) (B/L)
Breakfast at the hosts’ homestay.
We travel through the palm forests of Tuyen Quang Province back to Hanoi. We stop at Tuyen Quang City and Son Duong for sightseeing and lunch. We’ll make it back to Hanoi in late afternoon where our great adventure to Ba Be Lake and Ha Giang concludes.
