Tour Overview

Accommodations for the trip include standard hotel rooms in Lang Son and Cao Bang, homestay at Ba Be National Park. Most meals are not included, but our tour guide is available to assist you with local food at each city or town that we travel through.

Detailed itinerary
Day1 Ha Noi – Lang Son/Tour of Lang Son (no meal included)
Our adventure trip starts from Hanoi in the morning. We follow the excellent road No. 1 A to Lang Son. On the way, we visit Chi Lang Passage where decisive battles took place many times in the thousand-year history of Vietnam. Besides the history lesson, Chi Lang offers the visitors with tranquil village life and sublime mountains. We arrive at Lang Son in time for some refreshment at the hotel and for lunch at a local restaurant (on your own account).
We have the whole afternoon exploring the different attractions around Lang Son City including visits to Tam Thanh and Nhi Thanh Caves, hiking to the top of the To Thi Mountain. It is sandy and slippery, it is necessary to exercise good care clambering the mountain.

Day2 Lang Son – Dong Khe – That Khe – Cao Bang – Pac Bo (Ha Quang) – Cao Bang (B)
Breakfast at the hotel.
We leave Lang Son for Cao Bang in the morning. Road No. 4 C to Cao Bang is scenic with wild mountains and with various ethnic villages. Road No. 4C also brings you back to an interesting period in the war against the French by the Viet Minh. We then arrive at Cao Bang City in time for lunch (on your own account) and refreshment.
In the afternoon, we follow the scenic road to Pac Bo where Ho Chi Minh came back to Vietnam after 30 years traveling overseas. At Pac Bo, Ho Chi Minh lived in a cave surrounded by wild nature with heavenly beauty. From Pac Bo, Ho Chi Minh commanded the war against the French. You may have have different political points of view; but at Pac Bo, there are various lessons we could learn for our own life. In late afternoon, we leave Pac Bo and travel back to Cao Bang City for the night.

Road to Pac Bo
Day3 Cao Bang – Ban Gioc Waterfall – Pac Ngoi Village (Tay People) (B/picnic lunch/D)
Breakfast at the hotel.
In the morning, we check out of our hotel and continue our journey towards Ban Gioc Waterfall, on the Chinese Border. There are stunning mountains, high passes and tranquil villages on the way that we can stop for short visits any time. Arriving at Ban Gioc at mid day, we have time for lunch at a local restaurant. Then, proceed towards the border between Vietnam and China to adore the stunning Ban Gioc Waterfall. You can choose to ride on a raft to get right to the water of the fall on your own account.
Leaving Ban Gioc, we travel to Nguom Ngao Cave. The cave has the total length of over 2km, located in a peaceful valley. We have 1 hour walking in the valley and visiting the cave, then continue our journey back to Cao Bang and further to Ba Be National Park. We arrive in the heart of Ba Be in late afternoon. Our home tonight is at house on stilts with a Tay family, by the water of Ba Be Lake. Our dinner is hosted at the family home.
Ban Gioc Waterfall
Day4 Pac Ngoi - Ba Be National Park – Cho Ra – Ha Noi (B/L)
Breakfast at the hosts’ home.
In the morning, enjoy a boat trip on the pristine water of Ba Be Lake. On the boat trip, you can learn a lot about the fauna and flora of Ba Be National Park and can have various opportunities for bird-watching.
Our lunch is at a Tay family further inside the park.
After lunch, visit Dau Dang Waterfall and cruise back to the park headquarters. Our car should be ready to transfer us back to Hanoi. We arrive at Hanoi in late afternoon concluding our great adventure to the North East of Vietnam with AdventureGreen.
