Travel Guide to Sin Suoi Ho Village, Lai Chau

Weather and Climate

Sin Suoi Ho Village is in a region with tropical monsoon climate. Thanks to high altitudes, the temperatures are cool all year round. Because there are several high mountain ranges to the west and southwest of the village that the summer monsoon or Southeasterly Wind, which prevails in Northern Vietnam in the summer (May-August), does not have much impact on the village, hence low humidity during this time compared to other regions in Vietnam.

In the winter months (November – February), the Northeasterly Monsoon causes cold and dry temperatures in the village. There may be snow or frosts in the period between mid December – mid January.

In the months March – July, Lai Chau Province is also under the impact of the Foehn wind from Laos which makes the air dry.
