    Brown shrike 
    (Bách thanh nâu or Bách thanh mày trắng, Lanius cristatus)

    The brown shrike (Lanius cristatus) is a bird in the shrike family Laniidae that is found mainly in Asia.

    Trait: Like most other shrikes, it has a distinctive black "bandit-mask" through the eye and eyeline, white brow (above), ruffous cap which extends to neck, long square tail.
    Habitats: found mainly in open scrub.

    cristatus: From Latin crista (“the comb or tuft on the head of animals; tuft of leaves on plants; crest of a helmet”).

    The bull-headed shrike (Lanius bucephalus) is a passerine bird of eastern Asia belonging to the shrike family Laniidae.
    The bird breeds in north-east China, Korea, Japan and far-eastern Russia. 
    Northern birds migrate south for the winter with a few reaching southern China, sighted in Taiwan, Hong Kong and Vietnam.

    The bird's range extends from south-east China south through eastern Burma, Thailand, Laos and Vietnam to Malaysia and Indonesia.

    - Tiger-like patterns on the back and lower sides;
