    Campephagidae containing the cuckooshrikes and allies is a family of passerine birds found in the subtropical and tropical Africa, Asia and Australasia.
    Cuckooshrikes are not closely related to either the cuckoos or to the shrikes.

    Campephagidae: New Latin, from Campephaga, type genus (from Greek kampē caterpillar + New Latin -phaga) + -idae; 'Phago' is a term used as a prefix in Latin meaning 'Eating' or 'swallowing'. Phago ultimately comes from the Greek phageîn, which means “to eat, devour.”

    Coracina is a large genus of birds in the cuckooshrike family Campephagidae.
    The name Coracina is from the Ancient Greek korakinos meaning "little raven", a diminutive of korax meaning "raven".

    Lalage is a genus of passerine birds belonging to the cuckooshrike family Campephagidae, many of which are commonly known as trillers.
    The genus name is from Ancient Greek lagages, an unidentified bird mentioned by the Greek lexicographer Hesychius of Alexandria.
