1/ The striated bulbul, also known as striated green bulbul or striped bulbul, (Alcurus striatus) is a species of songbird in the bulbul family, Pycnonotidae. It is the only species placed in the genus Alcurus.

The family name Pycnonotidae is from Greek: puknos "thick" or "compact" and -nōtos "-backed".
Alcurus Greek alke: might, strength; oura tail.

Le genre Alcurus ne regroupe qu'une espèce de passereaux, le bulbul strié,  appartenant à la famille des Pycnonotidae.
